This unique 18th century double reed quartet was composed by Johann Nepomuk Went (1745-1801) also known as Jan Vent and Johann Wendt was born in Divice near Louny (Bohemia).
Originally scorred for Oboe, Oboe Grande in G , Cor Anglais and Bassoon, Lonarc Publishing have transposed the Oboe in G part for Oboe d'Amore.
Went’s other wind chamber works include: 5 Oboe Trios for 2 Oboes + Cor Anglais; 5 Oboe Quintets for Oboe, Violin, 2 Violas + Cello and 5 Partitas for 2 Oboes, 2 Cor Anglais, 2 Horns + Bassoon.
The parts have been edited with reference to the urtext manuscripts found in the Český Krumlov Library by Professor Joseph Sanders MA (Cantab) Dip.RAM, ARAM (b1956)
